New menu for Qantas Business Lounge, Qantas Club airport lounges
Rustic Italian meatballs, Thai sweet potato soup, minestrone, chicken and leek pot pie, baked potatoes with all the trimmings... it could be the blackboard menu from your local bistro, but instead this is just some of the fare now being served at Qantas' domestic airport lounges.
It's a substantial overhaul of Qantas' lounge dining, with new preflight delights and suitably 'winter warmers' for Qantas Business Lounges and Qantas Clubs across Australia.
There will be six menus in all, with each being progressively rotated weekly across the lounge network so that each lounge at Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra will see a different menu every Friday.
Here's a look at some of what's in store.
Qantas Business Lounge
The 'island dining' breakfasts served from 6am to 7am will include smoked salmon bagels with cream cheese and a variety of baked egg dishes.
The Plate of the Day selection for dinner – available from 5pm to 6pm – is packed with variety, including chicken & leek and beef bourguignon pies, and mezze platters.

The Diner plays the comfort food card with baked jacket potatoes (below), pulled pork buns, tacos, Tandoori chicken wraps and of course the odd hot dog available between 4pm and 6pm.

Here's one of the evening menus which you'll find at the Qantas Business Lounge – as you can see, nobody will be in danger of going hungry.

Qantas Club
Visitors to the Qantas Clubs will be able to start their day with a tummy-warming serve of porridge and finish it with a bowl of hearty minestrone soup.

Other new dishes include a delicious spiced cauliflower with chickpea salad (above), and a fluffy light fried rice (below).

Qantas is also promising 'gourmet fillings' for those DIY toasted sandwiches.
