Le Club Platinum members gain Club Sofitel access in Australia
Platinum members of the Le Club AccorHotels loyalty program can now – and finally – enjoy access to the Club Sofitel lounges at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth, Sofitel Melbourne on Collins and Sofitel Brisbane hotels when staying in any room type.
Offering complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, evening drinks, hors d’oeuvres and other refreshments throughout the day, Australia's Club Sofitel lounges had until recently been off-limits to Platinum-grade members unless also staying in a Club Sofitel room type.
That began to change in August 2015 when Sofitel Brisbane started welcoming Platinum members into the Club Sofitel lounge and then from December when the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth commenced an extended trial of lounge access for Platinum guests.
These changes are effective immediately and also cover existing bookings, so even if a Platinum member made a reservation when lounge access wasn't offered, an invitation to the Club Sofitel lounge will still be provided on check-in.
Accor's Terms and Conditions have also been amended to cover situations where a Club Sofitel lounge in Australia is closed or unavailable, with Platinum members then guaranteed a full buffet breakfast at no charge at the three hotels named above plus a bonus 1,000 Le Club points per affected stay.
These changes bring Australia's Sofitel hotels into line with those across the globe which already welcomed Platinum members with open arms in Club Sofitel lounges.
Top-tier members of comparable loyalty programs including Hilton HHonors Diamond and Starwood Preferred Guest Platinum also enjoy hotel lounge access wherever available when booked in any room type, including at all Australian hotels.
